Miscellany Monday

We are stuck here with a snow day and I couldn't be happier.  Well, I could be if my husband were to be stuck at home too, but he doesn't get snow days.  It's my first snow day as a teacher and it's quite nice.

I've been wanting a snow day ever since December.  And did we get snow?  No. Not until now.

And I'm sure it'll be gone by tomorrow when the rain comes.

+ I took a nice long bubble bath the other day and I listened to the newest Sarah Jarosz album.  She has become my new favorite artist.  You should really go check her out.  It's folk-y, bluegrass-y-ish, and just... nice.  I love it.

Plus, her Pandora station is super relaxing and awesome.

+ On that note, Nickel Creek is back!!  No, not Nickelback.  Yuck.  Nickel Creek!!  They broke up YEARS ago and are now back with a new album (coming out in April) and a tour.  It's incredibly exciting and my mother-in-law, who is extremely wonderful, bought us tickets for our birthdays!

Check out this song from their new album:

+ It's still frustrating and mind-boggling how I can get all caught up on my schoolwork one day and then suddenly feel overwhelmed the next.  I can't wait until summer.  I need to rewrite my whole curriculum plan.  It probably doesn't help that the classroom I'm in is not really mine.  We use a church for our school and my classroom is used by them on the weekends.  So no desk, decorations, etc.  It makes for a dull class time.

+ Nick and I have restarted Game of Thrones.  We tried to watch it a couple years ago, but we didn't really get into it, nor did we have the same time to watch it.  Now that Nick and I have similar hours (or at least we're home at the same time), we can spend time watching it together.  And, we've become addicted.  To a terribly gruesome show.

+ We had this AMAZING chocolate and coconut dessert.  It was in a magazine and I seriously could not get enough.  The best thing about it?  It's contains very little calories and is to die for.  Funny enough, it's not on the internet.  I'll share it with you later this week.  After I make it again...

+ I'm amazed with how fast my daughter is growing.  She went from not rolling over to constantly wanting to be on her side while sleeping (thus, making her roll over ALL the time in her crib).  And, she makes the funniest sounds and has the cutest laugh.  I can't get enough.  She'll probably be driving by next week, too.
