Stuff & Things: November 6th

Linking up with Kristin and Joey

+  My daughter can twerk.  No joke.  I don't know how she learned - maybe she was born with it.  Nick's mom pointed it out when I showed her a video of Ellie dancing and now it's all I can see when she dances.  Maybe it's not Miley's fault she dances like that... maybe?

It may not be the best angle, but you get the idea.

+  The cloth diapers and I are currently battling.  There has been a big case of something going on with my diapers.  It's causing Ellie to get sores from them.  I think they just aren't getting cleaned enough (or so my cloth diaper gurus say). I am attempting my last round of stripping them (no, not like that, perv).  After that, I don't know.  I don't want to give in to disposables, but it's so tempting...

+  Why is it so difficult to find orange juice with pulp?  I love pulp.  Why would somebody NOT like pulp?  It makes it seem like REAL orange juice.

+  I'm tempted to start listening to some podcasts or something on the way to work.  Driving to and from work (20 minutes both the snow.. uphill... just kidding) gets kind of boring.  Especially when the radio sucks and NPR isn't playing the news yet.  Any suggestions?  Maybe I'll just start with some audiobooks...

+  Does anyone else listen to NPR?  I feel like Nick and I are of a very rare breed of young adults who actually enjoy getting caught up on life and listening to those fun shows like: Wait, wait, don't tell me.

+  Ellie was a frog for Halloween.  Now, we're not real big into Halloween, but we were given a hand-me-down costume and also invited to a church party with some of my younger cousins. I had to make sure she wore pink shoes so that people wouldn't confuse her for a boy.

They still did.  Maybe I should have put a 20 inch flower on her head....

  1. I am a no pulp kind of person but that is because I am a texture freak. I hate some textures in my mouth and pulp is one of them.

  2. Ugh the cloth diapering issue! I'm sorry! I used to nanny a kid with cloth diapers and we sometimes ran into the same issues. Good luck! Also, I'm Joey. Like a boy. Don't worry, it happens a lot :)

  3. Hi there, found your blog through the link up!

Ugh the cloth diapering thing sounds awful! I don't have any advice but I hope you get it figured out soon!

Haha, I hate pulp in my OJ but I can see why you would like it! It does make it seems more like real OJ!

When there's nothing on the radio I always listen to Pandora on my phone. I can always find the perfect music for my mood! :)

  4. Haha, Ellie and her twerking. Better keep an eye on that one ;)

I'm a pulp person. The more pulp, the better!

Cloth diapering...of course I am no expert having had no children but have you tried fleece liners? I was actually reading recently that they keep a kid more dry than the other kinds of liners so they're good to use when rashes pop up.

Someone recently recommended a podcast called Serial, I've been liking that one! It's about a kid convicted of murder and an investigator trying to figure out if he actually did it or not, years and years later. It's pretty interesting, I've gotten through the first 3 episodes so far! (Start at the beginning!)

  5. Serial! It's fascinating for a podcast. Also, for a price I'm more than willing to pay with a 40 minute commute, I listen to a lot of downloads.

Orange juice with pulp is the ONLY orange juice.
