A few Christmas crafts

This past Saturday I went to my good friend Holly's house for a day of crafts and fun.  We spent the day making some really fun goodies and just catching up.  It was so great seeing her.  Did I mention that she's also 4 months pregnant?  :) :)

Anyways, we made a few things that I want to share with you.  One of them was some very inexpensive coasters.
She had bought plain white tiles from Home Depot for $.16 each.
We each picked out some cute paper and mod podged it on to the tiles.
After a few hours they were dry and we sprayed a sealant on top so that the glue wouldn't get removed from water or heat.  Those dried for a few more hours and then we added some felt to the bottom for the protection of our tables and viola!  We had cute coasters!

We also made some really cute Christmas cards.  I found the ideas for these two on Pinterest.  Aren't they cute?!  They were really fun to make, too!

I hope that your weekend was fun!  I'm very excited for Christmas to get here.  I'm ready to spend time with family and friends.

Day 4: Seven Wants

It is now day four of the 10 Day You Challenge.  I think this is a great topic for today considering that Christmas is almost here.  5 days, isn't that crazy!?

Today's topic is: Seven Wants

1.  An iPad.  I think they are so cool and I would have so much fun with one!
2.  A house or a nice apartment.  It would be nice to get out of a small/cheap duplex and move into a house that isn't awkwardly shaped and has 2 bedrooms.  That would be nice.  *sigh*
3.  A new car.  Our car is getting up there in miles and use.  We also share a car and so it would be nice to have another one for times when we both need to use it.  It would also be great to have an all-wheel-drive car.
4.  Summer.  Maybe not summer, but just a really nice day with sun and really warm weather.  I want to go sit outside and read... but not in the cold, thank you!
5.  Snow.  Ha, I know the last one and this one clash, but we haven't had some decent snow that has stuck since mid-November.  I just want one nice big dump for Christmas time.  Pleeeease?
6.  A huge delicious veggie sandwich with lots of avocados.  Can you tell it's lunch time?
7.  More money.  Who doesn't right?   :)

Day 3: Eight Fears

Day 3! 

Today has to be eight fears.  Yuck, right?  Well, here goes nothing.

1.  Spiders.  Yuck!
2.  Heights.  I don't mind heights when I'm strapped in (like roller coasters or airplanes), but if I'm on a cliff it's not too much fun for me.
3.  Dark water, i.e. water that I can't see through.  Who knows what's down there?!
4.  The dark.  This is more when I'm walking alone outside and it's dark or when I'm home alone and you hear a million different sounds that you never hear before.
5.  Driving in a heavy downpour.  This is happens a lot around here and I really don't like it.
6.  Not being able to have kids.
7.  Being robbed.
8.  Never get to see Europe!
