We made it!

We made it to Zion and we made it back.  Thank you Lord!

It was a fun/sad/beautiful trip.

Super fun and beautiful because, well, it was my first multiple day road trip AND we were going to Nick's favorite National Park.   It was also incredibly warm and gorgeous there.

Although, it was sad because Nick was sick the whole time.

Two days before we left he wasn't feeling well and had a fever, but we didn't think too much of it because he hardly ever gets sick and when he does get sick it usually lasts only a couple of days.  Well, my poor husband had his sickness the WHOLE time we were out.  He STILL has it.

Still a champ even though he's sick.

We went to the doctor when we got back to the state and he said it was a mono-like virus, but not mono, and Nick would be out of it for probably another week.  Yuckkkkk.  So, he is coughing like crazy and swallowing pills to keep his fever down.  Poor guy!

Other than that though, it was a great trip.

The driving took WAY too long.  Who thought it was a good idea to drive 12 hours the first day? BUT Utah has some wonderful speed limits.

Why can't Washington have these?

We actually got to the NP (National Park) and had planned to find a campsite inside the park, but did we think that everyone else in the country would have spring break at this time?  No.  So there weren't any campsites, but it ended up being totally worth it because we got to camp right on the river with an amazing view.

The weather was BEAUTIFUL and warm (with occasional chilly wind) and I got a nice tan with a hint of sunburn.  I can't complain about that.

We didn't do too many hikes mostly because Nick was sick and had very little energy, but he couldn't help not hiking because we were in ZION!

The hikes we did do were the Emerald Pools hike and Angel's Landing (also the scariest).

I'll stop talking too much now and continue with some photo dumps.  ENJOY!

The crazy hike up

Walter's Wiggles!  The crazy switchbacks.

The crazy trail up to the top.  I stopped here and let Nick try and conquer it.  Too many people and way too steep for my unbalanced pregnant body.

The view from the top.  BEAUTIFUL.
